Fair Warning; This will be the only description that you will ever read that tells you like it is. We are not trying to ‘sell’ you on this trip. In fact, we hope that most of you read and decide ‘nope, I am definitely not ready for that’. Why? To understand if this Kilimanjaro trip is right for you, please keep reading.
Kilimanjaro is often a bucket list trek, someone had a friend who ‘did it’ and now they want to try.
We have 5 booked and will accept up to 2 more people for this trip who complete the registration. At least 1 mountain experience preferred - with a commitment to training for the next 10 weeks.
But this mountain deserves more consideration. Its a serious and dangerous mountain climb. Just because you CAN climb it as a beginner does NOT mean you should. Our experience over 15 years of taking groups to this mountain has proven a few things: yes, anyone can do it, but those that really truly enjoy and appreciate the challenge are trekkers who have at least some hiking and mountain experience. They will also be able to understand the benefits that our trek offers in comparison to their previous mountain experiences.
Register your interest for free here as you ask yourself these questions before you decide if this is right for you:
Are you self disciplined in your cardio, hiking and endurance training?
Have you done at least 1 mountain trip to at least 3000m?
Have you slept in a sleeping bag and a tent and not taken a shower for at least 3 days?
Have you completed any hike, anywhere, of longer than 10 hours?
Do you have the budget to make this a truly once in a lifetime and enjoyable experience?
Do you have 11 days to use for the trip?
How Our Trek is Unique:
First, to ensure positive group dynamics, everyone in your group will be experienced and ready for the trip. Altitude sickness is something else, but good fitness will minimize your risks of this as well. Excellent fitness is simply, a MUST.
This tour will include a day acclimatization prior to the start of the hike to further support your body’s ability to adjust to the trek you are about to embark on.
We are choosing the Machame 7 day trek for better acclimatization and an extra acclimatization hike prior to starting the climb.
